Say Hello to Roy
This page is all about Roy, however we would like to help other Orangutans so help us sponsor some more of these amazing creatures, scroll down the page and click on our advertising to raise our donations...
Roy was brought into the care centre on the 3rd of June 2005. The police had confiscated him but were unsure of exactly where Roy had come from. Weighing only 2.35kg, when he arrived Roy was very thin and approximately 10 months of age.
His little body was covered in blister like sores most likely due to unsanitary conditions that little Roy had been kept in. After he finished his compulsory time in Quarantine Roy was much healthier. Now he is nearly two years old and weighs a wonderful 5.86kg!
Roy has a beautiful nature he is very gentle and kind, but still enjoys a good ruff and tumble play fight with the other infant orangutans. When Roy first arrived, he didn’t like to climb and only wanted to sit on the ground near his carer. He now loves swinging through the trees and playing high up in the canopy, just as an infant orangutan should.
